"Every Day Should Be a Holiday: An Alternative Meal Plan That Will Dramatically Empower Elders" Presented by: Jeff Thorne, Administrator, CEA; Dan McGuire, Director of Nutrition Services; Sara Bernstein, Senior Care Dietitian; and Ann Schulze, Director of Nursing - HealthEast Care Center on Humboldt, St. Paul, MN. In this session, the Administrator and Food Service Director from HealthEast Care Center on Humboldt will discuss the specifics of the meal plan, including the benefits and state surveyor response. They will also present a detailed implementation plan including a timeline and communication plan. They will also share the benefits experienced by residents, staff and family. The positive impact on the budget and morale of the facility will also be discussed. The clinical outcomes experienced as a direct result of the Modified Meal Plan and the results of the most recent Resident Satisfaction surveys will be outlined. |
